Jesus trusted in God’s words about him, and we can trust in God’s words about us!

Bible Focus: “As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house.” -1 Peter 2:4-5a

We can trust in God the Father, just like Jesus did.

Bible Focus: “For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.” -1 Peter 2:21

We don’t belong in this world, but we get to make it more like Heaven!

Bible Focus: “And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one’s deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile.” -1 Peter 1:17

Even when bad things happen, we can praise the risen Christ!

Bible Focus: “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials.” -1 Peter 1:6

You do not have to be afraid, because Jesus rose from the dead!

Bible Focus: “But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.’” -Matthew 28:5-6a

Jesus’s final words on the cross were a victory cry.

Bible Focus: “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” -John 19:30

Jesus would never hesitate to wash our stinky feet.

Bible Focus: “[Jesus] rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” -John 13:4-5

Jesus rode on a donkey’s back, but he carried a burden on his back, too: us.

Bible Focus: “And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, ‘Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!’” -John 12:14-15

Jesus raised Lazarus so that we might believe in his power over death.

Bible Focus: “Then Jesus told them plainly, ‘Lazarus has died, and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe.’” -John 11:14-15a

God knows what he’s doing, even when we don’t understand.

Bible Focus: “[Jesus] spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, ‘Go wash in the Pool of Siloam’ (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.” -John 9:6b-7
